The trouble with the GX9 is that 5 years on the best replacement is still another GX9.

No need to replace what works ... if it works for you, that is. Welcome!

That said, if you can, it pays to explore the market; lots of very good gear available used. Depending on how much :mu43: gear you own, it may be possible to replace the system quite easily, without much of a loss.

However, I'm hanging on to my own GX9 because it's still one of the best cameras of that type available - yes, it has its quirks and limitations, but they aren't major IMO. On the other hand, I've come to enjoy my E-M5 III more because while not being a lot bigger, it offers better quality all around, and so, by extension, will the OM-5. But crucially, the Olympus bodys are don't share the gestalt and handling, and I love that the aperture ring of the wonderful 15mm f/1.7 works on the GX9, so ... No reason to jump ship.
