Sony Anyone been watching the lens rumors/releases?

Seems like a lot lately. Tamron 50-200/2.8, 28-180/2.8, Viltrox 28/4.5 Pancake, Sigma 28-105/2.8. Tamron 50-300/4.5-6.3, Sigma 28-45/1.8, Tamron 28-300/4-7.1, others from Viltrox, Meike, etc.

These are rich times we're living in, not sure I've ever before seen a lens selection as vast as this.

I've never had a pancake lens, the Viltrox is supposed to be around $100, might be fun on the cheap.

Rich times indeed. The V pancake will likely be optically sound too if anything like the little 20mm.
I'll likely try it. Anything on the list that suits your bag?

Next up, Fstoppers accidentally posted a review of the new Godox. The accident? Some of the photos used in the review were made using Sony’s as yet unannounced 85/1.4 GM II. Oops.

The Tamron 28-180/2.8 looks interesting. I’ve been contemplating the 35-150/2-2.8. Part of me doesn’t want to give up the fast short end, but in reality it’s only f/2 from 35-41, then it’s f/2.2 until 60. After that it’s 2.5 and 2.8. I think the added focal range is worth the trade off for the faster apertures over such a narrow band.

However, that previously rumored Sony 24-200/2.8-4.5 is still on my mind. I don’t ‘need’ any of them, so I’ll just struggle along :p with what I have for the rest of the season and see what pops up over winter.

None of that applies to the Viltrox pancake though, that look like a good winter walk lens.
