Apple Cinema Display 27 Thunderbolt unboxing

Hello friends!

I received the Apple Thunderbolt Display beast today :)

I know that it is probably not the best photo editing display out there (they are a lot more expensive of course) but as I am an Apple user this fulfills my needs. There is probably an update lurking around the corner but I needed this now :) And for my photo and video editing needs, it is more than enough coming from a cheap TN panel monitor (which you will see in the photos beside the new to me Apple Display).

I have some space to play with now with my 27 and 23 inch monitors as well :)

By the way; which color space profiles should I use while editing photos on the Thunderbolt display?

Another by the way - I have a lot of photos from my field trip to Barcelona with my X100s that I've promised to share. A lot of work to do with them but the Thunderbolt display will absolutely motivate me to keep that promise to you guys!

Now, let the unboxing pics speak:

Now you'll definitely need a calibration system like a Spyder4 :)

Congrats on your new monitor. I would just use sRGB colour profiles unless you print at home then AdobeRGB and sRGB interchangable

You need to buy another and replace the monitor on the left :p
Enjoy your new monitor !

Thanks! Thats the problem with these better monitors... You want another one :)
Mac Mini can actually use 3 monitors; 2 Thunderbolts (daisy chained) and a third through HDMI (up to 1920 * 1200)... This doesn't bode well...

Congrats for your new display! I have a 27" imac since 2010 and pretty happy about it!

Maybe you can get to 4 with a minidisplayport to dvi :D

I recently watched a YouTube video where a guy had six big monitors in front of him, in two levels. He could see them all without turning his head much. A clever setup.
