Thank you again! Posting things across the two boards might in fact generate confusion. I do it because not everyone there is a member here and vice versa -- but it appears many sure are... and of course I am, lol.
 
Great aren't they? I spoke to an astronomer at Sydney Observatory a couple of night ago to say how democratic star gazing has become with greater resolving power of camera sensors.......and cleaner ISO at higher levels. He told me that star gaze parties are now the complete reverse to how they were in terms of telescope/digital camera ratio. It used to be 90/10, now it is 10/90.

Those are lovely! I wasn't even going for stars here, they were a bonus. In fact, with the slightly hazy sky they weren't even very visible and there are more in this photo than I could easily see with my eye which I think makes your point also.
 
wow, wow and wow!!

These shots are all quite amazing; and to think they are possible with affordable camera equipment. Once apon a time, these kind of shots would have been reserved for specialists only.
