Film APS - Help On Digitising

Apologies for posting here but I didn’t quite know where else to put it.

At last I’ve earmarked some time early next year for digitising all the negatives from my film days.

I’ve bought the Valoi 35mm system to use with my Oly EM5iii and 60mm macro lens. In theory this will work well with 35mm negs but I have a number (20ish) canisters containing APS negs. I bought into the system before digital compacts and went a bit nuts with it when out and about so I have lot of family memories ‘trapped’ in these little canisters.

I noticed there was an APS holder for the Valoi system. However I have no idea how to get the negs out of the canister which was designed to seal in and protect the film. Does anyone have any advice on getting at the film either generally or with respect to the Valoi system, please?

Show me a photo of the canister please.

No need to. Check out the YouTube video titled:
How to get negatives out of an APS cassette. By Pete Kennedy.
Thank you for that. Not sure how I missed the one on YouTube.

I also find it frustrating that, here in the UK, I can find no equipment or lab that can digitise APS cassettes and read the encoded date/time data. Thankfully my wife has a pretty good memory so we can work out at least the year and month when most of the photos were taken.
