I hope you are not expecting sunshine on the Gold Coast......its fairly damp up here too. Lots of rain and high tides have eroded the beaches, many have been closed! I can recommend a visit to the observation deck of the Q1 tower if the weather clears, for 360 deg views from the ocean to the hinterland where I live (Tamborine Mountain).
