How about a trip across the English Channel in this? The Shuttleworth Collection’s machine was used by the Blériot Flying School at Hendon in 1910 and is similar to the famous aircraft flown by Louis Blériot when undertaking his world record Channel crossing attempt on the morning of the 25th July 1909 - 114 years ago:

When Discovery was en route to the WMA for inclusion at Udvar-Hazy, she was flown across the country.

Prior to landing they did a lap around the area. I was lucky enough to be working on the 7th floor that day and the shuttle mounted on the back of a 747 literally circled the building at eye level.

It was very cool

Sud Aviation Caravelle III - restoration project on-going. Today (and during the summer) there were open-doors to visit the plane. If the pilot in the last picture seems to be a bit worried, it has to do with, ehh, incomplete flight deck 😄

Workhorse of the skies, Douglas DC-3, in a bit rough phase. Some of the parts, like back wings and rudder is missing, and most of the gauges. Nevertheless, this torso is movie star from adventure movie: SISU
