Photo giant B&H knowingly cheated New York state out of at least $7 million in sales tax over the course of 13 years, a new lawsuit filed Thursday by state Attorney General Letitia James charge…
The suit alleges that the company passed along “instant rebate” deals from manufacturers to customers, but failed to pay tax on the full price of the item as required by law.
Yeowch! Honestly, the last two lenses I bought were from a Big Box store, not the usual NYC Photo retailer suspects. Hopefully they did pay the tax since I took advantage of manufacturer instant rebates.
My less sympathetic friends on other forums commented "Taxation is theft."
