I wasn't satisfied with the look of the birches in the one above and spent awhile fussing with it in Capture One. It's, I think, a rather subtle difference but I do like this version better.

Thanks, William. I mainly played with black and white points, highlights, shadows and contrast, with a little sharpening.

I don't know whether you will think it's an improvement, or not.

That could be achieved by leaving the black point and shadow adjustments pretty much alone, I reckon.

It's just one of many reasons why I urge people to get everything as right as possible when the shutter button is pressed. It minimises or removes the need for any postprocessing at all.
