Documentary blackpearl

I bit the bullet, and negotiated with the missus to get a new toy. I call her blackpearl

24 years old car, can have small niggles to work with. But that’s part of the fun

First thing to fix was the centerarm cup holders. Glueing plastic parts back to one again, laminating carbon fibre to keep the pieces together, tender loving care for the leather and installing new mechanism.

Beautiful, but that car is screaming for a manual transmission. I told my wife recently I might have to keep my car forever, because manual transmissions in new SUVs are becoming nearly extinct.
You’re probably right. It’s not a sport car with automatic transmission, more like a GT. But it makes me smile and enjoy life whenever I start it and get going. That’s what matters 😎

My farther was truly a piston-head, car enthusiast and mechanic. He didn't had funds to drive what he would have wanted, but he always took good care of his cars and repaired them himself. I wanted to give him something to think about, and sometimes worry, with my habit to select my cars. He had a wish to drive again with a new car in his last years and luckily he was able to do that. After serious stroke the first place at home he went was garage, wishing he could get back his driving license, and he did. And kept it until the very end.

Lovely car, I love the sweep of the rear hatch. The nineties truly were a weird dichotomy of aesthetically beautiful and aesthetically hideous cars. Very little was in the middle, they either looked cool or horrible. Yours looks cool!
