Just recently started doing butterfly shots with the Z50 and DX 50-250. The riparian area where I do my walking had a bunch of Monarchs a month or so ago, then the butterflies tapered off. This week we've had a bit of heat increase after a cool-off, and they've been out in droves.

A Painted Lady in my garden. Some years we get a huge influx of these in the UK, this year, not at all. This is the first I have seen all year and was taken 2 weeks ago.

Unlike most of the others, this one never stayed still, more easily scattered if getting a bit too close. Constant movement of wings and constant shifting on the flowers. A lot of missed shots.
