Start Date

End Date

Post your image that takes advantage of Road markings.
A photographer can do a lot with road markings I think: (leading) lines and shapes, street photograpy or an abstract grafic image, rainy streets, monochrome or color.

The standard rules apply:

As usual, this Challenge will consider originality, technical merit and artistic vision.
No change to the tried and trusted rules, which are as follows:

1. Either take pictures that match the nominated theme or select one from your portfolio. You must be the photographer that created the image in order to enter it.
2. Only one entry per challenge, please. If you want to withdraw an entry and replace it with another, that is OK, but you must make it clear in the post containing your
replacement picture that this is what you've done. You can add or change the title and add to the edit line to let everyone know.
3. The decision of the curator at the end of the challenge is final - don't give him/her a hard time about it: this is just a friendly photo challenge, after all!
4. The winner will assume the responsibility of curator for the next Challenge, and as soon as possible post a message in a new thread in the Cameraderie Photo Challenges forum,
with details of the new theme. Don't forget - the opening message must include a copy of these instructions, which also double as the rules.
5. The curator cannot enter in his / her / their own challenge.

This challenge will close: March 1, 2025.

Thanks all for participating! I found it enjoyable to contemplate and look at some images for a longer time.
Hereby my off course completely subjective and personal judgement:

@griffljg You photographed the most unique and crazy road markings! Also like the colors in the shot.

@David1701 Indeed it's ALL faded, and that makes this shot something special. The road marking is very important for the composition but not the subject of the photo. I also like the view to the far sea.

@5354photos Great lines everywhere, in the markings, stairs, railings AND the two girls. I also like that the photo isn't static because of the people on the move and the slight tilt: and this dynamic is made even stronger because there is also one person sitting.
Lastly, awesome sunlight spots.

@ShipleyNW This almost seems a monochrome image, except for off course the bright yellow sign, well seen! I like the line of snow leading to the sign, and to the direction of the arrow.

@JayOC This one is all about contrast: in the tones; the straight lines and round covers. The letters are really 'in your face'. I keep wondering what is surrounding this piece of road.

@donlaw I like an abstract image and this one has a perfectly balanced composition. The B&W nicely shows the different structures and the wet line is the icing on the cake!

I was in doubt between.... David and 5354Photos. Those were the images that gave me the most Wow as soon as I saw them, and the images I wanted to keep looking at.
In the end David's photo got second, because I find the post-processing, allthough it fits the subject very good, is attracting to much attention and not my taste.

That means, congratulations to 5354!🏆
Kudos to everyone:bravo-009: and 5354: I'm looking forward to the next challenge

The photo was taken behind a restaurant. The loading zone is located at the entrance to a parking garage. During the day, the loading zone is used for restaurant deliveries. In the evening, it is used by people getting take away orders. Street parking in the area is difficult. Garage parking is not always convenient depending on activities in the area

Many thanks. This challenge is not easy. I had some ideas before but could not execute well. During my stroll, I came to this place and the lighting was pretty interesting and just snapped a few candid shots.
I also like David shot a lot with the nostalgic feel.

My honour to host #79 challenge.

Thanks for the mention, Paul, and a worthy winner. When I posted it, I thought that my shot had no chance, so I'm chuffed to have come second!
