Our recent holiday to the Bay of Naples resulted in my taking along my by now usual setup for hols; the X-Pro1 and a lens or three, and my trusty Ricoh GR.

A combination of the excessive heat and the fact that our hotel was at the top of a hill on the outskirts of Sorrento meant that the GR got more of an outing than it usually does; even the relatively svelte X-Pro was just too much to carry on more than one occasion. We took in the sights of Positano, Pompeii, Capri and Sorrento itself - Naples is for another day...

Lovely stuff Bill. One of my favorite places, although mostly the south side of that little peninsula - ie, Positano, Praiano, Amalfi, Ravello, etc. Sorrento and Capri are really nice as well. And Naples a big teeming city with all of the good and bad that implies...

Thank you all for your very kind comments. The GR is a stellar performer - especially for in-the-moment mono - and a real bargain at present. I'm not even remotely tempted by the recent "upgrade" - I have high hopes for the future but it will take a lot to prise my current GR from my hands, due to it's killer combination of compactness and capability.
