Thanks Don. Just hoping that the G12 won't have the on/off button failure my G10 had. G12 seems to have a different button design. I'll be racing home for lunch to see if it arrived!

Susan, my G9's all had the power module failure. They were fixed under warranty. Less than 1 week turn around time. The 1 I have left has been to Iraq and 2 tours in Afghanistan. It still works great even with a cracked rear screen.
I bought the G10 on release but soon realized it didn't do well with noise.
I haven't tried the G12 but I hear lovely things about it.
To this day, if I could only have 1 digital camera, it would be my trusty G9.
Bar none.

I hope the G12 pleases you as much.
Don

Picked up my new to me G12 this morning, had to wait till mid afternoon to try it out in the middle of no where. (by my office) The road is from the early 1940's. Ratttlesnake Mountain in the background rises from 499' elevation to 3527'. I have to challenge my self to play tourist in my area to find anything to photograph. So much easier when I'm out of town!

Did I mention it's rainy lately ?

Summer's gone, Autumn is here and the rain is becoming a daily event.

One reason why I'd love to have a weather-resistant serious compact ...

My G10 - daily companion

In my jacket pocket when I walk to work - lately having fun with slow shutter speeds with passing cars.

My favorite so far - thinking to title it "Dawn racer"

Autumn Evening Trees

Hmm - tree with red leaves ...

Gum tree

Something funny happening with first photo - maybe over sharpened during resizing ...

I reckon it conveys the lazy dreamy feeling of summer better than an in-focus version would have.
