Went into Philly with just the G7X and Coolpix A yesterday - never got into low light, so the Coolpix never came out of the bag. I don't know why I don't spend more time with the G7X. It has optical issues around the edges of images at the wide end, but I have to look pretty closely to notice them. The files don't handle processing like the Coolpix A or DF, but they do pretty well. And setup the way I have it setup, it's a nice little set of 24, 28, 35, 50, 85, and 100mm primes in a very small package. It's got me thinking pretty hard about the coming Nikon DL 18-50 - adding really wide angle options like 18 and 21mm to a camera like this (and presumably better optics because they weren't going for ultra-small) could make a combination of the two (DL for everything up to 35, G7X for anything between 50-100) a pretty compelling small kit for when I didn't feel like carrying a "real" camera...hilly G7X-68-Edit by Ray, on Flickr

I don't take it out very much, so I'm not sure I can say I've "warmed" to it either. But that might be the category more than this particular model - I've owned a number of these small fixed zoom lens cameras and never really ended up using any of them that much. But when I do spend time with it, I tend to be really happy with this camera and the results it turns out. Except for some of the wide shots under pixel peeping, where the optics do fall apart a bit... I'm hoping the new Nikon, which constrains it's range to the wider end and which appears to have a much larger lens, will be really good in the 21-35mm area where I spend most of my time. And the G7X is just fine at the longer end - pretty impressive actually...Nice pics. Somehow I never warmed to the camera. Maybe it needs a little more PP on my part to enjoy the results, I don't know.
