Brian

Product of the Fifties
The Wartime 5cm F1.5 Sonnar "T" in Leica mount- this one from 1943. The sonnar was recomputed in 1939, improved resolution and sharpness of field compared with the pre-war version. A lighter alloy used for the barrel, and hidden set screws used to secure the namering and rear fixture.

Wide-Open on the M9.

The focus mount of this version Sonnar is fragile. This one is good, probably not used much: the middle triplet was loose when I got it, did not hold focus. I have another one that saw heavy use, the helical was loose and the focus had a lot of slop in it. For that one; I made a sleeve for the mechanism to hold the inner helical steady as it was used.
