Daily Challenge Challenge in April: Who's in?

I'm in. For now I'm planning to use my Canon 5D Mk IV and 50mm 1.8. Thought I'd focus on images that reflect how COVID-19 is affecting day to day life, especially in my neighborhood, Roslindale, MA (part of Boston). Also planning to shoot pretty wide open, f/1.8-f/2.2.

Welcome Meri, for the record. I DRAGGED Meri into the group and the challenge. Now I just have to help her pick some lighter gear to drag around. ;)
No need to change gear, I have a DSLR and a plastic fantastic for this challenge and its proving to be the perfect stress free "shoot what you see" combination with guaranteed results.

The name’s Bond, Meri Bond. 😎

Well....welcome to the Challenge, Meri Bond.

When I think of Ian Fleming, who wrote the 007 stories, it isn't the spectacular action or tense thrills I remember, as much as James Bond's ability to focus on the details. Like his famous martini recipe, in Casino Royale:

“A dry martini,’ he said. ‘One. In a deep champagne goblet.’ ‘Oui, monsieur.’ ‘Just a moment. Three measures of Gordon’s, one of vodka, half a measure of Kina Lillet. Shake it very well until it’s ice-cold, then add a large thin slice of lemon-peel. Got it?’ ‘Certainly, monsieur.’ The barman seemed pleased with the idea. ‘Gosh, that’s certainly a drink,’ said Leiter. Bond laughed. ‘When I’m … er … concentrating,’ he explained, ‘I never have more than one drink before dinner. But I do like that one to be large and very strong and very cold and very well-made. I hate small portions of anything, particularly when they taste bad. This drink’s my own invention. I’m going to patent it when I can think of a good name.”

I think many photographers, myself included at times, obsess about the details which might make a great photograph - just like Bond obsesses about his martinis. But the truth is, most of the time, it's impossible to make the perfect photograph; like Neal Gaiman says, chasing after perfection is like trying to reach the horizon....you never get there. But sometimes those details can be really cool along the way.

Looking forwards to seeing your photographs over the next month....and welcome to Cameraderie :)
