Cloning

Hi everybody :
I recently downloaded the "free" version of Photopea. It has some nice features. My question is on how to CLONE a part of a photo, and COPY that part into another part of the photo. I tried the CLONE tool. And it didn't seem to work. I then tried COPY and PASTE. I couldn't get that to work either. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.

Select the clone tool; Increase or decrease the size using the bracket keys; select the areayou want to clone; hold down the alt key and press the mouse left button to select; then move to the new area, hold the left mouse button and "paint in" the cloned image. Tap cntrl alt z simultaneously to undo
