Film Cosina C1 Again + Olympus Trip 35

ReD

Hall of Famer
Bought two working film cameras last week & just had the test rolls developed

Cosina C1 (rebought this with a 50mm f2.0 lens)

Olympus Trip early silver button version (kind of a replacement of my long gone Halina Paulette Electric)

Both are really very nice to use.

I had the Cheapo Poundland Agfa Vista film developed by a proper studio this time (not Tesco) Scans are quick auto scans at 300 dpi from the Epson V550.

No other processing yet.

Cost per frame is around £0.20p plus travel etc

Yeah me too (the rear wall is actually cream though)
This follows on from some Merrill closeups Julian posted of his pots - I wanted to compare the Cosina & the X10 with focus mid way between rims

I agree Kyle - I wanted to rebuy one after I found out that my previous criticism was mistaken - all the blame should have been attributed to a poxy Veho scanner

My first camera was an Olympus Trip 35, so I've got a lot of affection for that model.

No battery to worry about, a great 40mm f2.8 lens and a delightfully simple zone focussing arrangement.

The only thing I didn't like was that red finger which poked up rudely in the viewfinder when the Trip decided it was too dark to take a picture. As a budding amateur photographer I thought I should be the judge of that.

Yes Richard I like it a lot - the Paulette Electric was similar zone focus but offered more manual control & B setting & a top view light meter. I think I took some of my most memorable photos with that camera
mostly downhill since it seems. I replaced it with a Zenit E.

The Trip was the start of my Olympus period, which went something like Trip > OM10 > OM2 > OM4. with an XA4 too somewhere in there.

Still have a great fondness for the brand (but no actual product, apart from my old OM2)
