This gem of a lens arrived today. Lightweight, super smooth and clicky and just perfect.

My copy frontfocuses slightly -- as do all LTM lenses I've tried out so far. Maybe I should look into getting another LTM-M adapters if there's a better one among them.

But that frontfocus doesn't ruin the aesthetics. The lens is just superb at bokeh, focus transition and microcontrast. It's usably sharp wide open. It would appear to be good at distances too, so it definitely has a place in my lens family.

How about that. The frontfocus is greatly corrected by this new adapter ring I bought. Sadly the ring is 28/90 but I have hopes the another adapter I'm waiting (50/75) is also a good one.

Close and far

I made a quick stroll with the improved action.

I might be hasty with my focus actions but let's see.

Beautiful bokeh, absolutely beautiful.

Camera decided to change my lens to the 21mm SEM on the fly. I guess I have to keep lens detection on "off" if I know for certain there's no bar code to be read. :) The blue cast on the right /might/ be because of this misinterpretation.

This shot was taken moments before, no cast.

And moments later, the SEM was gone.

Wide-open, there's well-behaving softness to the image. Extra sharpening in post makes good results.

Good looking blur and accurate focus (it was precisely where I intended it to be)

Received the second LTM-M adapter ring but it also gives front-focus with the lens. Sad!

The lens itself behaves well and you won't notice the slight error in this downsampled image.

Even with the frontfocus problem the rendering is gorgeous. And perhaps, the tiny hint of unfocus helps remove that digital aesthetic?

After all this excitement with the new Panasonic, I took the neglected 75 with M for a walk.

I think this is about the best quality/price 75 you can find for the M system.
and relatively young
