COVID-19 Coronavirus: Agree to Disagree 😧

Even if I had tested positive, I would have continued to take full precautions. We're still dealing with a largely unknown phenomena.

I think some people who test positive start to act careless. Everything is still not understood.

I think the trick (if I can call it that because it's probably just dumb luck) is to catch the virus sufficiently that you get the antibodies, but not so much that it (a) kills you, or (b) leaves you in a weakened condition for when it has another go at you later.

This write-up describes how air space, amount of people and exposure time can affect how you get sick:

The Risks - Know Them - Avoid Them

On top of that, personal health and genetic factors might play a part. I've even read that Vitamin D deficiency might be a factor:

Vitamin D deficiency may be tied to a higher risk of severe coronavirus infection

After more than 20 days, my two 6x bottle orders of alcohol arrived from Amazon! The trick is to keep searching at random times (I found my order available around 4am Pacific time) until it pops up. Both packs were bought at-cost and not marked up. In fact I've also received my Steramine bottle and a 10 pack of KN95 grade masks from Amazon (non prime sellers) which both arrived quickly. Ebay on the other hand has been terrible at shipping items on-time. I've stopped ordering medical and safety equipment from there.

Also if you're running short or don't have N95 masks, there are a few alternatives. KN95 can be hit or miss, so it's probably a good idea to test them using this method. I've also found Korean made KF94 masks to have more consistent quality, but cost more. Not sure I'd use either in a serious hospital setting, but I think they should be adequate for general use in conjunction with social distancing.

Comparison of various masks:

Great,

Don't forget to disinfect the amazon parcels and its contents.

My postman advised the same thing when delivering a box- use sanitizer after handling deliveries.

All my packaging goes straight to recycling and I disinfect all my groceries nowadays as well. I know it's overkill, but I'm the kind of guy who makes his bed every morning, cleans his cameras after each use and basically stick to a set of rules and procedures for everything I do. If people find it tiresome or unable to adhere to structure, perhaps they lack discipline in other aspects of their life.

I was notified today as being on the "trace list" with a co-worker testing positive for Wuhan Virus, waiting for a scheduler to set a time for a test.

I'm at the median days for showing symptoms, 4-5 days, and so far my temperature is my normal 97.5 and no symptoms.

Send Natalie and tell her to be sure to wear the Snoopy scrubs.

I'm sorry to hear that. If you're going to get blood drawn, get your Vitamin D level tested. Are you taking supplements?

If you're at the median time and no symptoms, very good chances you're OK.

PS: I sanitize groceries, discard packaging. I take as many precautions as possible.

I've been taking Vitamin Supplements and following precautions - so we will see how effective they are.

I get the test done tomorrow at 11:16. Stay in the car, they time down to the minute. All setup over the phone. By Monday I'm hoping to report status. I'm more concerned about the family than myself. Hopefully- I dodge this bullet. I tell my wife that there was much less chance of exposure at work than at the grocery store. But- knowing the person tested positive weighs heavy. That person is at home, minor symptoms. It's hard to tell early symptoms from allergies, the pollen here is so heavy it filled in cracks in the road after the rain dries up.

To be honest when this first broke out, I was content to go in an empty train through the empty streets to my office. Social distsancing was easy peasy, it was like it was done for me. But more people are out now. I mean, it's still not back to normal by any means, but I'm not the only one anymore. Pah. Might have to re-evaluate working from home and those awful Teams and Zoom apps.

:D

It's being sold by a few different vendors so you might be able to find a more local supplier cheaper; the cheapest I can find it in USD at the link below.
Hmmm, reading the detail, seems like its not really that good, in the sense that its only good for 4-5 washes. At that price... nope, not for me :) Especially since its more in AUD.

I am still distancing. A friend couldnt wait to get back into socialising and as yesterday was the first day of an easing (not removal, mind) of restrictions, she immediately organised the usual Friday coffee and cake session with the girls (I had to politely decline... “the girls” have NOT been distancing and thus are at risk of getting it, or passing it on) and people for dinner. Not to mention the grandkids for the weekend. For her, its a complete return to normal, in spite of knowing that there are risks. I am staying in, until there have been no new cases for at least two weeks and I dont just mean locally (that has already happened) but across the state, and across the country. The virus needs to extinguished, not just mitigated.
