The small guitar body is compared against the blueprints to ensure the correct body profile. I need to shave about 1 cm more around the waist to ensure a smooth taper. Slow, methodical progress is the key here; it is easy to remove too much material and ruin the profile, as I sadly learned on one of my early builds.

In the ravaged aftermath of the wildfire which partially burned the Oregon town where I live, a kindly and enterprising soul has gone through some of the rubble of what was once a house - and retrieved a few still-recognizable fragments from the previous life --- and placed them atop the impromptu horizontal shelf provided by the rear trunk of a burned car.

This small ceramic figurine caught my attention - she seemed to be a symbolic of survivability amidst destructive chaos.
