The D-profile is my favorite neck shape. I wouldn't put too much stock in my patience . . . I get really aggravated at myself sometimes when I make little errors that have to be addressed.
I've had a few bloody fingers. Even hand tools don't eliminate that possibility. And next Monday is the two year anniversary of nearly removing the tip of my right index finger when I was using a router bit without a guard. The damage to the finger eventually healed, and I learned a very valuable lesson about complacency.
