Today, I give you - the largest diamond currently known in the universe: Lucy!

This very peculiar pulsating white dwarf was discovered in 2004 on this date. It has about 1.1 solar masses - most of it probably cristallised in its carbon core (up to 90%), where it has to take on the structure of a diamond, the most "condensed" allotrope of carbon.
