Daily Challenge Day to Day 277

I opened the heavy curtains in my man cave that are rarely opened in the afternoon, and strong sun came streaming in. This old painting looked really different in the bright light because of the textured painting style. I decided to take a shot because, you know, it's been over a damn year of doing this and the low hanging fruit has all been long since picked, eaten, baked into pies, and made into preserves.

I had hoped that one of the specialists in machinery would recognize what this is. Instead I find hhhhhmmms.
It was lying in the grass next to some heavy machines involved of digging up the ground to lay free the pipes and drains of a building housing the laundrette of the psychiatric hospital. I was fascinated by the colours but could make no sense of its use.

I really wasn't sure it wasn't some kind of debris after all - it's definitely showing signs of heavy use. But now it makes sense - thanks for clearing that up (assessment corrected, of course ;)).

The neighbour who owns the rural property next to my old house, has several old cars sitting out behind her barn. I've thought about photographing them from time to time, but most of the wide-angle compact cameras I seemed to have with me couldn't bring me close enough. But today, I had my underused (and underrated) Lumix Vario 45-175mm zoom on my GX9 and suddenly, I could frame the photo I've been thinking about for too long.
