Not too long ago, this would have caused a major GAS attack. Since I was a boy, small, however limited computers hold a entirely unreasonable fascination for me (which is why I own a couple).

Programmable calculators, like paper dictionaries, are definitely a relic, long ago superceded by computers (Excel is a better calculater than most you can buy) - but schools won't let go ...

Unrelated, but comparably fascinating (for me):

Shopping today at a local (Ashland, Oregon) supermarket, I brought along the Pen E-P3 with its ultra-cheap manual focus 25mm Pergear lens, mainly because now having a VF-2 viewfinder (which I acquired from @mnhoj), the camera has become twice as fun to shoot with, thanks to the ultra-precise framing and focusing the EVF affords. The store has a section with dry goods and 'sundries' - including some cool socks - and when I saw this one, I knew it was just a matter of framing and being patient...for the right moment to come along ---

Taken with the in-camera diorama art filter setting.

Not much time for photography.
Had to supplement the curbside pick of grocery with a preferreded chocolate treat.
Something to keep us all happy.

I like this image a lot, Don, for....a lot of reasons: the framing, the processing, the tones....you name it.

And also because, the other day, in a fit of chocolate-craving-madness, I bought the exact same Swiss chocolate bar....and wolfed half of it down almost instantaneously.

If the philosophers believe that "in vino, veritas" ... one wonders what they would say about chocolate?
"in chocolatio, satisfactionitas" ?

Chocolate is supposed to set hormones of happiness free.
Knowing this, a daily portion is a must. And of course it must be the best (for utmost happiness).
And that definitely leaves but one choice: chocolate from Switzerland (lucky'n'happy Matt).
In socolata beatitudinem (official translation of Vatican) ... where do they know from?

I'll not dig into this ... but Toblerone is Swiss tourist marketing chocolate (though nice enough, from time to time). I suggest Läderach or the like to get a real taste ...

But even this isn't the real top-of-the-world experience; I've visited a couple of small, specialist shops ... hideously expensive, but heavenly tasty (and tasteful). Whisky Truffes with select Single Cask Single Malts ... droolworthy. You'll eat chocolate worth a full dinner in a good restaurant in ten minutes, but you'll know why.

However, Belgian chocolate is very nice, too - a bit less hearty than the Swiss variants, but very smooth indeed. Ironically, I learned to appreciate it in - Scotland, of all places (I think it's a pretty big thing on the Isles in general; or at least it is until Brexit).

Finally, as to the Latin involved:

In chocolata beatitudo - I'd subscribe to that ;)
