In an effort to keep the cost of my bike project down, I've sourced used parts where I thought it would be feasible. I found a NOS 34T 74 BCD Japanese chainring to go with the cranks I found, which will be paired with a set of pedals I've been holding onto.

On a trip into the neighboring small Oregon city of Ashland, when I encountered something I wanted to photograph, I discovered, to my horror and surprise, that my E-P1 battery was just expiring. Fortunately, my iPhone had more than enough juice left to get the picture I wanted--
The moral of the story, which we all know, but which was brought home to me again, today, is, simply: the best camera...is the one you have with you. In this case, my iPhone.
