Nikon Decisions, decisions: too much choice

This coming week is the 3rd edition of the Cape1000 motor rally.

For the on-the-road photos, should I use

A: Nikon D500 + 24-120 (this would be a crop factor body) - I have not shot a dSLR for some time, lacking muscle memory
B: Nikon Z6ii + FTZ adaptor and the 24-120 (this would be full frame) - more versatile, but slower than native lens (D)
C: Nikon Z6ii + FTZ adaptor and the 70-200 f/2.8 (VR2) (FF) - a bit heavier than D, but with extra reach
D: Nikon Z6ii + Nikon Z 70-180 (FF) (lacks the wider bits that the 24-120 would offer)

E: I mean - I could also add the D810 with the native 70-200 f/2.8 but I don't really want to clunk around with all that

For statics I'm sorted with wide angles but the choice for the main event perplexes me

B, the Z camera is more of a computer than the D500 which'll make it easier to ensure the shot is got, plus a wider flexibility in the focal lengths with the lens. As I understand it, there little to no difference in speed when using the FTZ adapter with a G lens as opposed to a native lens on a Z camera.

I will, eventually, Instagram is what my son & daughters use so I'll have to get attuned to all that first😎
No 🙂 don't fret - the thread is right here on this forum It's image heavy but all the lens details are below the pix and if you notice any specific differences between the two, please shout.
The one is f/2.8 and the other f/4 but honestly with our summer sunlight, I won't be using 2.8 in the next few days

Thanks, seen it and you're right, there's no discernible difference, at least to my eye. You wouldn't have an 85mm lying around would you?

Nice images at the cycle event, Irene.
Looking at the focal lengths from what you've posted it seems that most fall in the70-180 range. Autos are larger but the working distance may be longer too. For me, I like wide angles in tight for autos to exaggerate distortion but definitely while they're static. I also think I'd prefer the feel of the 70-180 over the 24-120/FTZ.
I'll vote D.
