hidden marsh/flowers

as it is getting a bit warm, many of the flowers here in Phoenix are dying off. On my way home today though, I happened to catch a glimpse of these flowers a bit back from the road and in a hidden little marshy area so I stopped, got closer and snapped a few shots.

I'm not a huge fan of flower shots generally but I grew up in Southern AZ and something about desert flowers really pulls at me. I really enjoyed seeing these and knowing how nice it is in the desert right now (and how hot its already getting and how brutally hot it'll be in another month!). Thanks for posting them!

lenses

Dave, they all look good. Tell us all about how you get the result you do.
Do you use Macro Mode, which lens, pp work... just wondering.

Thanks guys. A lot of people think there is no beauty in the desert. But march-early may see a lot of blooming.

As to my shooting, the wider shots are from a 35mm Minolta, (The Rokkor Files - Minolta 35mm f/1.8 Review), and the close-ups are from a 70-150mm Vivitar/Minolta, (Hin's Photo Corner: Vivitar 70-150mm f/3.8 from Kiron -- 2 touch zoom), which has a great close-up macro range.
