The challenge ends on Tuesday 11th July at around noon BST. The subject of is The Kelpies in Central Scotland. The Kelpies are enormous and, though I am not against lateral thinking, I am looking for a sense of scale when I view your PP uploads

The RAW file is here
and the JPEG is here

Have fun.

Didn't we just have this one over on the MU-43 website?
Yes, we did have it on mu43 but the audience her is different. Also, as I said in my summing up, I was disappointed with the the the PP. Let's see if DDD can do better. I know this is a personal view but let' see what happens

Entry #1:

First imported the CR2 image into Capture One Pro 23 and was surprised at the amount of noise in an ISO 400 photo. To address the noise, ran the CR2 image through DxO PureRAW before importing the resulting DNG file into Capture One. Then added in some contrast and maxed Highlight recovery to bring out some definition to the clouds. Performed a bit of Shadow recovery. Cropped the image to bring more focus onto The Kelpies.

Round-up time

betamax (1) Pretty good for a 10Mpix image. Did you de-noise and shape hard? I think not, it looks as if you pushed it too far.

RobD (#1) I can smell the red T-shirt guy's hair singing. By rights he should be on the deck breathing his last gasp!
but
griffljg (#1) nigh on perfect; but it would be even better with the power cables removed

griffljg (2) Another PGP (pretty good photo), especially the contrast level - but, those b***y cables again!

betamax (#2) A well moderated contrast but I don't like the frame & cables

Peano As we have come to expect, superb imagination and execution

Results:
3rd - RobD (#1)
2nd - betamax (#2)
1st - griffljg (#1)

Over to you griffljg

Thanks to all who participated

Thanks Stiga. Yes I did denoise (dxo prime xd), but I then put it through the Nik plugins then Luminar 4, so I think it got a little smudged in the process. The old free version of NIK (which I used) sometimes adds a lot of noise if you push that too much, which maybe I did.

Thanks Stiga. It was very slack of me, but I didn't even notice the cables. I'll put up the next challenge in the next hour or so.
