Entry #2: I was quite unhappy with my first entry, so I decided to start again and minimize the fiddling and tweaking. The only thing that I repeated was a slight bluish tint on the mountain in the center to give the impression of distance.

Perhaps a coincidence, but I postprocessed the image in exactly the same way as You @Peano, unfortunately You are still not competing. My B/W rendition approximates the one from @WhidbeyLVR.
