This was challenging for a few different reasons. My main helpers were Topaz Denoise, Photorestoration neural filter to get rid of dust, object remove tool for leftover dust and telephone pole.

This was a great challenge (to me at least). I am sad to report that, in this case, my photo editing skills have proved to be wanting. Everything that I did to try to address the dust problem seemed to aggravate it. So I finally removed the worst of the dust and left it at that.

Everything done using Capture One Pro.

The Challenge is now closed. Many thanks to all who contributed their beautiful edits. Having gone over them several times I know that judging is going to be almost an impossible task. I'll try to post the results some time tomorrow. Thank you all again.

Thanks to everyone for entering the Challenge. All entries were significantly better than my own attempt: removing the dust spots while retaining the image presented a serious difficulty for me as well as a challenge for everyone, I'm sure. Most dealt with the problem very nicely, although a couple nicked the top of the cross on the bell tower slightly. I liked Ken's (@kae1's) idea of including the slide copier as a vignette. I had a problem narrowing down my preferences, but having gone over the images many times, I didn't think more mulling would help: it likely would have resulted in different selections, but I had to stop some time.

So, the winner is Irene's (@Irene McC's) color entry. I particularly liked the sharpness, the light levels, the excellent dust removal, the appearance of the city in the background, and the fact that she removed the telephone pole.
First runner up is Larry (@griffljg). Nice processing and good sharpness and dust removal.
Second runners up are Hendrik (@Zeus1) and Rob R (@Rob R).

Over to you, Irene.
