Entry #1. Cropped to 16:9 and highlights and blacks lowered, then shadows lifted. Took the greens down, moved the yellows towards orange and added a vignette to go for the Fairy Grotto sort of look...

Entry #1:

Imported into Capture One Pro 23. Wound back the exposure. Lots of Highlight and Shadow recovery. Warmed up the White Balance a bit. Added some Clarity using the Punch method. Pushed up the Saturation a bit.

Cropped to 16:9 aspect ratio to get rid of that branch crossing across the top.

Entry #2:

As for Entry #1, but first ran the ORF file through DxO PureRAW 2 for some sharpening, lens correction and noise reduction, before importing the DNG file into Capture One Pro 23.

Let me start with a B&W. DxO with Smart Lighting, Clearview, Contrast and colour accentuation (Why do I keep doing this on B&W?), then Ilford HP5 Plus 400 B&W rendering and finally a red filter and a white frame.

Gosh - great entries for an image that I had a lot of difficulty with.

Kudos to betamax for his psychedelic entry

I enjoyed the fairy grotto look that Herbert Hound offered, but thought it a wee bit dark.

I hadn't considered a black and white look, but realised it took out some of the dynamic range issues - so ......

And zeuss did exactly what I realised I ought to - which was a harder crop, to take out the branch, and the over exposed edges in the back ground.

So - over to zeuss for the next one
