This is Digital Darkroom Derby #106, a digital image editing/processing challenge.
Please read the rules here. Short version: Host provides the challenge image and selects the winner, who then becomes the next host.

The challenge consists of a series of images taken at Brimham Rocks in North Yorkshire. I went to photograph all the rock formations at sunrise with my photobuddy and wanted to capture all the rich tones in the rocks but the light was in my face so I decided to take bracketd shots. This is a .jpg from the series.

SNS-HDR, then DxO PL6, it seemed not quite level to me, but that might be an illusion. Mucked around with highlights, midtones and shadows.

Entry #1. Just used one of the RAFs that had sky detail in it. A bit of a crop and level, one of my presets, bring down the blacks and raise the shadows. A touch of dehaze for the sky.

Entry #1:

Imported all the raw files into Capture One Pro 23 and performed an HDR merge on them. Then fiddled a bit with white balance on the DNG file. That was it!

Entry #2:

As for Entry #1, but performed lots of Highlight Recovery in an attempt to bring out the clouds. That wasn't very successful and so masked out the sky, wound back the Exposure and did some further Highlight recovery. Then some Shadow Recovery, added some Contrast and a bit of additional Brightness.

first, all images into Photomatix Pro>Contrast Optimizer; then into ACR and PS to increase tonality and structure.

#2 I could not reist this interpretation of Eagle Rock, Brimham Rocks

EV -2 image only PS and Luminar AI. Unfortunately I could not find a better eagle

All 5 images first in to DxO PL6 for lens correction and Deep PRIME XD, then exported as DNG to Aurora HDR and merged, back to DxO for final touches like warming the picture a little to get rid of the blue cast.

Used single raw file _DSF7806.RAF through DxO PL6 and then tweaks in Gimp/G'mic/Nik.

Well, I do like pictures a little darker, so I would not brighten it, but thanks for the kind words.
