Dogs Dogs (part II)

Wol on the Solstice, chilling out and blending in. He's only 9 months old (and 55 lbs) and not yet of a mind to ignore me when I drop to his level and point a camera at him, though he does stick around when I'm photographing other things –– and that's much more important.

Continuing to play with old manual focus lenses. This is a Super Multi Coated Takumar 50mm f1.4 by Asahi Optical for the Pentax M43 screw mount cameras. It has a bit of a cult following, and it seems a good lens. This was shot at iso 2000 at f1.4 after Ellie had scooted under my work table after hearing something that sounded like a gun (but wasn't). I don't know her history the 3 years before we got her, but fireworks, guns, sudden noises from construction or dumpsters being emptied still frighten her. Thunder is the worst. But she also sleeps under my work area just to be close also, which I welcome. The shot is a jpeg that I worked a bit in Photoshop, but I'm surprised by how well the lens does in SOC jpegs.

She's a good dog and a faithful companion, not to mention goofy and funny sometimes.

It seems as if there have always been dogs in my life. We seemed to have a lot of dachshunds, two of which died a month apart around this time 2years ago. We now have a chihuahua, a Chiweenie, and a mix which we rescued from the humane society. Here are Sissy, the Chihuahua, Pete the mix with possibly some terrier, and our newest dog which is the Chiweenie, Heidi. They mixed well and are great buddies to each other. the little Heidi is shown resting on the back of Sissy.
