The recent rain flooded the crop fields and in a spot, there was fresh grass growing, very green and bright. We had to go through it to avoid all the puddles ... and failed (her wet paws). She was hopping like a little bunny through the tall and soft windy grass.

It's always been difficult for me to be comfortable around people but my friends took me in their house some years ago to look after their fluffers (both passed away recently) while they were on holiday. They trusted me and they were kind to me and I grrmew to love them very much. After COVID-19 she was terrified of getting sick as both are extremely high risk and I couldn't visit them for 3 years. As they are both past 60s they are uncomfortable with technology and messaging and even phone calls were not something they wanted to do.
I buried myself in work after my girlfriend passed away and I lost contact with them. I wanted to visit them 4 weeks ago before they left for their anual holiday in Italy for the first time since 2019 but I was called into work because they were understaffed and I picked work instead, and it happend again the next Saturday by which time it was to late as they left. Last week I received the news that he passed away due to heart failure and high blood pressure (same as my girlfriend). It took a lot of strength to visit her today because I have so much guilt and self-despise for not seeing them sooner and put more effort.
The dog is a new addition to their family after the loss of Buttons and Maizi, both Cavalier, and he's only 10 months old. I know how painful it is for both of them and how long and difficult the road ahead is. He was so playful with me and sweet. He would sit on top of the armchair and rest his head on the shoulder of his mom to comfor her.

@L0n3Gr3yW0lf Ovi, life is what happens while we are planning other things!

IOW, do not feel guilty about any of these things. We have little to no control over any of it. It's not as if you deliberately did, or failed to do, anything whatsoever that caused any of these unfortunate events.

Be more gentle with yourself, my friend.

Sadness is fine, feeling guilty is verging on madness.

I had the last chance of playing with my favourite little Sailor, Meghan, 3-year old girl. (I blew the upper part of the image and highlights so I gave Photoshop Sky Replacement a try using the new Generative AI with the line: blue sky with fluffy clouds with sun illuminated from the top right side ... it came out a lot better then I expected, even the blurriness matches the DoF from the rest of the image without adding any line in the command for that).

This is her on her own seat on the speed boat, she was so cute and lovable the whole time. This image made me appreciate the wide angle closeup that I don't use often enough. I will miss her as the sailing season has closed today and won't open again until April.
