Documentary Doors - mirrors of those behind them

Location
Germany
Name
Walter
For quite some time I've been fascinated by the way people style the front doors of their houses.
Of course you see immediately how much money there is behind these doors. But there's something more to it.
Each of these doors reflects in a very special way the personality of the owners behind them.
The need to distinguish oneself from others, to express one's own individuality, is very evident here.
All these photos were taken on a stroll through a provincial small town in the south-west of Germany (less than 20.000 inhabitants).

And yes, they all have people living behind them.

And a couple more with steps leading up to the front door.

Thanks a lot Don and Mladen.

Especially the doors of extremely run-down buildings made me wonder what the living-conditions of those living behind them are.
You seldom come across them, their poverty remains well-hidden in shame behind such doors.

Our society boasts of all the things you can buy. Yet there are people in desperate poverty (up to 5 %) who can't.
With only 1% of the money lying in off-shore accounts and thus stolen from taxes all these people could get support and live in dignity.

Walter, this is a really cool Series. Quite a few really stand out and make me wonder about the story behind them.
:sorry: Walter
I can see that your pics are in focus and extremely well exposed.
Your assertion/assumption that the personality of a house owner is mirrored in the front door of the abode he lives in seems to me a bit far fetched.
You may be able to prove me wrong. Have no inhibitions I can take any rudeness.
P.S. Perhaps you might like to show the front door of the home you live in and enlighten me.

Sorry Rolf that I can't give you any enlightenment from our front door. As I'm living in a rented flat the house owner is responsible for the entrance door. And this corresponds in some way to the advertising for a certain Swabian chocolate brand (square - practical - good) ... though in this case it is rectangular.

I understand your scepticism as to my assumption. Maybe a series juxtaposing complete buildings and their entrance doors would show better how I came to this assumption. The house someone had built for himself is THE mirror of his personality (modest, ostentatious, practical, playful, tiny, huge, sober, baroque ... good and bad taste) and thus its front door is only a tiny mosaic piece in the overall impression. ;)
