Caved in and bought Nik for $50AUD/$35US.

It's more out of loyalty than anything - an investment in future development because apart from some bug-fixes it is not much different to the original in operation.

I don't have PS/LR so will use as plugins to Affinity Photo and they can be called as external editors from other software incl DxO EditLab and others with limitation to jpg/tiff.

If you want the free version still, email DxO and request a download link to "Nik Collection 2012". Also available elsewhere on the web.
