I continue to get asked to shoot events, sometimes paid, sometimes volunteered for a good cause. I had 1 days notice for a film fest last night, but I made it work. Had to borrow a good friend's XT1, and get 2 of my lenses back that I loaned another friend to try (as my XT1 is out for repairs) but they both made it work during the day yesterday, so I managed to scrape the gear together and go straight from work.
It's just event shots, but I keep pushing myself to get better at this. You never know when the hobby could turn into the job.
Gear was the XT1, no flash, and the Rokinon 12 / XF23 / XF35 / XF56. The 56 pretty much buttered the bread all night, given how big the room was. Second most used as the 35. The 23 pulled in a few closer crowd shots, and the 12 set the overall scene.
Would you have been happy if you paid, say, $100 for these (and others on flickr), delivered the next morning by 11am?
