The Nikkor-SC 5cm F1.4 wide-open on the Leica M9, this lens is now 70 years old.

This is the first 5cm F1.4 lens for full-frame 35mm. Zeiss introduced a 5cm F1.4 Biotar for 35mm movie cameras in the late 1920s, but was not quite 24mm x36mm coverage.
This lens is a Sonnar formula, "stretched" the design from F1.5 to F1.4. That does not seem like much- until you see the glass in it!
