Food "On the Road"

For those interested and visiting PDX or Portland, this area also boasts one of the most delicious Chinese-Thai restaurants in Oregon and possibly in the United States-- "Yaowarat" - which is on SE Stark. Their cuisine was developed in Bangkok and is more or less a creative blending of Bangkok Chinese and Thai dishes - and their dishes and food are, in a word, sumptuous. My former favorite Asian restaurant in Portland was Andy Ricker's legendary PokPok (which was shut down during Covid, and which foodies still discuss nostalgically) - but Yaowarat is a more-than-worthy addition to the scene.

Here's their website, for those interested--

Thanks for the recommendation, stopped there (Yaowarat) on the way to the airport on our way back from PDX, well worth it.

Per usual, it's easy to have great food at PDX, spent most of the time at the pearl district, had fantastic Burmese, ghana and Korean cuisine. Had great ramen and just comfort food on the East side.

There are plenty of cities that have great food, somehow it seems easier to have a.great experience in PDX restaurants with a great hit rate.

If you can handle the weather and the crows in downtown, a great place to visit.

ROTFLMAO Yessir, that's the truth. Portlandia is all true.

Take out pizza (with what remains of my wife's brownies viewable in the photo as well)

Two friends and I swung by the New Garden in Seaside to help celebrate Chinese New Years. Three guys, four dishes, one for the table. Chicken and Vegetables, Chicken and Snow Pea Pods, Ginger Beef and Walnut Prawns. It was all delicious. The food in this restaurant never disappoints. One fellow is looking for the bad dish on the menu. He has been looking for months without success. There is no bad food on the restaurant's menu.
