Fine dining isn't our thing, but we found ourselves at a nice place in wine country, and decided to get lunch. My love ordered the octopus entree, and I supressed a giggle when it arrived, miniscule as it was. Tasty though, I gather.

We shared a white pizza, and a side of roasted beetroot in beet greens pesto - also quite tiny, but delicious, and a great match for the pizza.

The noise level in the half-full dining room was overwhelming, and I resorted to wearing ear plugs - we couldn't talk to each other, anyway. I don't know how other people do this!
Service was pleasant, though we noticed a lot of empty hands returning to the kitchen, when we had some empties on our table. Isn't there some kind of cardinal rule about this?
We felt a bit underwhelmed by our drop-in experience, but maybe we'd have a more enjoyable time midweek, instead of on a Saturday.
