Put the XT1 (with 18-55) on the ground, aimed it via the rear lcd, dictated ISO400, prefocused and locked it, dictated f2.8, and shot this at 4.3 seconds as Jon tried to hold still on the grill.

I am not going to lie, this one made me drool a bit! LOL I love the detail of these pictures. I never been one to take pictures of food but I can see why people enjoy doing it!

I believe you are correct, as well - this dish is (or was) originally French - and the French call it un gratin dauphinois.
