I see your use of HDR as the proper way to use that software, ie to improve the image. I remember first using it and being really impressed by suddenly being able to come out with these strongly transformed images. Alas, they bore no relation to how a scene realistically looked so these days I use it in the same way you do.

I think the middle one comes closest to how the scene actually looked to my eye when I pressed the shutter button.''
