Item Vivitar (Kino) 70-150mm f3.8 Close Focusing Zoom MD/SR Mount
My Location NC
Picture
File(s) attached
Description
Vivitar's Kino-produced lenses (which included a lot of the Series 1 lenses) are hidden gems, IMO. This is a two-touch (zoom separate from focus) version, with "close focus" function at the 70mm end.
I'd say that the condition is EX++ to Mint-; it looks like it spent more time in the bag than in use; the mount is very clean. There is a little wear on the barrel, but very little, and a little paint loss on the front edge of the built-in retractable lens hood. Overall, the markings are clear and bright, with the exception of what looks like some soilage of the aperture numbers. Focusing is smooth, as is the zoom action. The diaphragm is dry and snappy. The constant f3.8 aperture is nice. There is no fungus or any visible issue with the coating (appears to be multicoated). There is mild internal dust; nothing that would impact image quality. There are a couple specks that appear to be inside the second front element. Those are shown in the photos.
The last three images were shot with this lens; the only adjustments were for exposure and to resize to post. The very last one was shot in "close focus" mode at essentially the minimum focus distance.
I think it's a nice one, and would make a good addition to your kit.
Please check the images closely, and ask any questions you may have.
