ouch to the $899. I don't love wide-angle THAT much. I may pick up the cheapo fisheye and then just de-fish. For how rarely I shoot wide, I can find something else to spend the extra $600 on.
Early days, but I would bet on it being a very good lens. The price seems in line with lenses of this quality.
I am more interested in the 23, 27, and 60. When I shot m/43 the 40 length grew on me via the Pana 20, so the 27 intrigues me. It looks like Fuji is building up to a very nice range of lenses.
I've always been most comfortable with zooms at ultra-wide angle focal lengths because framing is super-critical. A change of only 1mm makes a big difference.

Yep, I've found the same. My 9-18 is a binary lens it seems, generally either at 9mm or 18, with only the very occasional stop in between at around 14 usually. I think a 21 equivalent would do well - about as wide as you can go before it starts looking vaguely cartoonish but still pulls a LOT of space and geometry into the frame. I suspect if I get this lens, it will be on the camera quite a bit.I've found with my Canon 16-35 and Panasonic 7-14 most of my shots are either all the way wide or all the way zoomed.
I have had this lens on order for months, I am sure it will be on one of my XPros all the time
I think the 27 is going to be surprise popular lens. It's small, compact, and just fast enough. It will probably focus close too. Honestly, that's the lens I'm most excited about.
