*BLUSH!!*
The camera is fab, but I just looked at your cat shot with the XZ-1 and... um....
different niches, the XZ-1 cannot do the long tele shots like the Fuji can
So do you think there's justification for having a camera for every niche? I'm beginning to think I could justify anything, especially where cameras are concerned!. That closeup one was taken with macro settings And I am just about to shoot Tommy (my old cat) in low light, to see how the cam performs there.
Sadly, the low light shots were rubbish. But, here's one to go on with, shot with my K-r (sold on in favour of a K-5) and the Pentax DA 43mm f/1.9 Ltd. Mind you the K-r + the 43 are pretty compact!I wanna see Tommy!!!

So here I am three weeks down the track and I have decided to return the F550 to where I bought it. The battery dies overnight, and the camera wont retract its lens or flash unit. I thought it was just me, and something I had done, until I saw this video on youtube this morning, and I have decided I am not prepared to wait until Fuji decides to update the firmware. Which might be never.
[edit] Before jumping the gun, decided to check for firmware update and there is one... although many are reporting that it simply doesnt work. I'll give it a shot and if it doesnt change anything, the camera can go away.
