I'm next in line on the waiting list for the 70-300 at my local camera store. They say shipments have been slow from everybody during the pandemic. But Fuji and Sony seem to be the worst - at least for them. And I've had good luck with this store in the past. I can usually get a camera or lens from them weeks before, say, B&H will have it.
