Fuji Fuji XF16-80mm f/4 OIS lens leaked

I hope as well. But I also hope they complete the set and replace the 55-200. Not that the 55-200 is bad, it's just a bit short for me. I'd like something between the 55-200 / 50-230 and the 100-400. A better than consumer, but not as big or as expensive as a "Pro" option, a longer version of the 55-200 f/3.5-4.8.

I’m thinking that in order to prevent dipping into smaller apertures - slower than f/5.6 - Fuji will have to keep the focal range under control. How about 80-250 or perhaps 80-300? Either would work for me. If it’s a constant f/4 aperture, fantastic. But I really don’t expect it.

70/80-300 would be my preference.

And while I would love a constant f/4, that's not really my criteria. Optical formula and features are more what I'm looking for. The 55-200 has the build, aperture ring, OIS on/off, etc; those are more the things I'm looking for in a "better than consumer" lens.

My thoughts exactly. Something a bit faster for the gloom and the bokeh and I'm sorted.

Dear Mr Fuji, 35 1.4 WR next, please... Until then this and the f2 will be my Autumn city break carry, I think.

The 16-80 isn't on CameraSize yet, but based on its listed specs, it is ever so slightly larger than the 10-24 and about 30g heavier. At almost $1,000 USD, I think I'll stick with my 18-55.
Actually I like the idea of these two being about the same size. Add the 55-200mm and you'd have a kit that would fit nicely in something like the ONA Bowery or Domke F-10.

I would preorder but for one reason. The poor performance I experienced with the Fuji 18-135. I was very disappointed in that lens, so I am going to be cautious and read reviews and rent/test before putting any money down.

Instead of a zoom, I'd be ok with a 150mm,180mm, or 200mm f/4. That would give the extra reach, the slightly better IQ but still allow for the optic to be smaller and less expensive. Im thinking 90mm size or similar of but smaller.

I just really enjoy shopping primes on the Fuji more than the zooms.

I shot the Nikon 180mm f/2.8 for a while, it was a nice light alternative to the 70-200mm f/2.8. But it wouldn't answer the 200-300mm wish for me. Before I could really consider switch completely from m4/3 to Fuji I'd need that whole filled. Fuji has the 10-24mm f/4, they're releasing the 16-80mm f/4, but then ??? The 100-400mm is just to big and $$$$. And while I like the idea of 600mm eq, it takes more care and patience then I tend to have.
