Following Andrew's Acros example, I thought I'd go ahead and start a CC thread. I took the image I posted in Andrew's Acros thread, and used the in-camera raw software to convert it to CC, bumping up the shadows to +2. Maybe not the best film simulation to try on a gloomy day. What do you think?

I rather like it! The texture of the wood comes out very nicely.

I've always wondered what portaits and landscapes would look like with CC, but with the color (saturation) boosted to +2 or so. Especially skin tones sometimes look a bit flat to my eyes in regular CC, and I wonder if boosting color /saturation would bring them to life or if it would create unwanted blotches of color...

Was able to get out and shoot some today with this simulation. Still tweaking it. Not liking the grain, so in the future will shoot without it.

Only thing done in post was straightening and cropping. Tones and color are all SOOC options as outlined below.

This one is supposed to be close to a Kodachrome.

Film Simulation = Classic Chrome
Sharpness = +1
Shadows = +2
Highlights = +1
Grain = Weak
Noise Reduction = -3
Dynamic Range = DR200
White Balance = Auto, +3 Red, - Blue
Color = -1
ISO = Auto (6400)
Exposure Comp = +1/3 to +2/3

A few favorites from today, just out and about trying to get some captures between storms.

I like the look! Often I find CC to be a bit too "bleach bypass" looking, preferring it with a boost in color / saturation... But especially with the ducka in the water shot, the silvery effect looks perfect. And in the shot of the couple walking their dog, the skin tones actually aren't too grayish and rubbery, which often bothers me about CC.

Some play with a Kodak Portra 400 film simulation.

Kodak Portra 400 Film Simulation

Film Simulation
= Classic Chrome
Sharpness = +1
Shadows = +2
Highlights = -1
Grain = Strong
Noise Reduction = -3
Dynamic Range = DR400
Color = +4
ISO = Auto (6400)
White Balance = Auto, +2R, -5B
Exposure Comp = +1 to +1 1/3

You'll notice some white balance variations due to the change in lighting during the day and also inside versus outside.
